SmofKabiven® central is required in patients with requirements of high nitrogen and energy and in patients having central venous access (central line).
-
SmofKabiven® peripheral is required in patients with requirements of basic to moderate nitrogen and energy and can be given via peripheral venous access (peripharal line) as well.
-
SmofKabiven® can be given as Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) along with additives or as Supplemental Parenteral Nutrition (SPN) along with oral/enteral nutrition.
-
The dose should be individualised to the patient’s clinical condition, body weight (BW), nutritional and energy requirements, adjusting dosage based upon additional oral/enteral intake. It covers the need of the majority of the patients, but the dose should be based on the estimated ideal weight in obese patients.
